\n< &> L'hormone adr\u00e9nocorticotrope (ACTH) (1-39), l'humain est un agoniste des r\u00e9cepteurs de la m\u00e9lanocortine. Cette hormone peptidique de 39 acides amin\u00e9s est produite dans l'hypophyse ant\u00e9rieure lors de la stimulation par l'hormone de lib\u00e9ration de la corticotrophine de l'hypothalamus en r\u00e9ponse au stress. Il stimule la s\u00e9cr\u00e9tion d'hormones st\u00e9ro\u00efdes, en particulier de glucocortico\u00efdes dans le cortex surr\u00e9nalien en agissant par l'interm\u00e9diaire d'un r\u00e9cepteur membranaire cellulaire (ACTH-R). Chez les mammif\u00e8res, l'action de l'ACTH est limit\u00e9e aux zones du cortex surr\u00e9nalien dans lesquelles se forment les hormones glucocortico\u00efdes cortisol (hydrocortisone) et corticost\u00e9rone. L'ACTH a peu de contr\u00f4le sur la s\u00e9cr\u00e9tion d'aldost\u00e9rone, l'autre hormone st\u00e9ro\u00efde majeure du cortex surr\u00e9nalien.<\/p>\n
